Chicago, IL (January 10, 2026) – A scooter rider was injured Friday evening in a traffic collision involving a car near the intersection of North Francisco Ave and West Armitage Ave in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood.
Officers from the 545 beat were the first to report the incident, confirming that a person operating a scooter had been struck by a vehicle. The crash occurred around 6:15 p.m., prompting a rapid response from Chicago Fire Department crews who were dispatched to provide emergency medical care at the scene.
The injured rider received treatment on-site, and it is likely they were later transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with responding authorities.
Chicago Police are continuing to investigate and will determine whether speed, visibility, or right-of-way contributed to the collision.
