How Seatbelts and Quick Response Can Make a Difference in Train Collisions
Collisions between vehicles and trains are often severe due to the size and speed of trains, which cannot stop quickly. However, safety measures like wearing seatbelts can significantly reduce the risk of serious injury by keeping occupants secured during impact.
Quick emergency response also plays a vital role in ensuring the safety of those involved, especially in rural or less-trafficked areas where help may take longer to arrive.
Drivers are reminded to always approach railroad crossings with caution, obey signals, and never attempt to cross tracks when a train is approaching.
