DeKalb County, GA (January 10, 2026) – A pedestrian was struck and killed in a tragic crash early Friday morning in DeKalb County. The incident occurred just after 5:00 a.m. at the intersection of Lawrenceville Highway and Montreal Road, prompting a response from DeKalb County Police.
Officers arrived at the scene at approximately 5:08 a.m., where they located a man in his 40s who had been hit by a westbound vehicle. Despite emergency efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced dead on-site. Authorities confirmed that the driver involved remained at the location and cooperated with investigators.
According to initial findings, the pedestrian reportedly jumped into the path of the vehicle moments before the collision occurred. The exact reason for the individual’s actions remains under investigation.
