Palmetto, FL (January 11, 2026) – Several individuals sustained injuries early this morning following a collision on US-41 North near Buckeye Rd in the Palmetto area. The crash also resulted in a roadblock that disrupted traffic through the area for a short time.
First reports of the crash came in around 3:45 a.m., prompting emergency crews to respond to the scene. The incident occurred on January 10 and involved at least two vehicles. Manatee County Fire Rescue worked alongside law enforcement to assist victims and stabilize the crash site. Injured parties received medical treatment at the scene, and several were taken to nearby hospitals for continued care.
Due to the crash’s severity and the location on a major highway, authorities temporarily blocked northbound lanes on US-41 while emergency teams worked to clear the vehicles and ensure public safety. The roadway has since been reopened, but the impact on traffic during the early morning commute was significant.
Investigators have not yet disclosed what led to the crash. Whether speed, distraction, or a mechanical issue contributed remains under review. No citations or arrests have been reported at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Our thoughts go out to those recovering from injuries, and we hope for their full recovery.
