Newton, MO (January 11, 2026) – A three-vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon on MO-59 in Diamond resulted in one person being injured and two vehicles totaled, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:25 p.m. when a northbound 2017 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by a 23-year-old man from Goodman, MO, attempted a turn and entered the path of a southbound 2010 Nissan Murano. The Murano struck the Camaro, causing both vehicles to sustain total damage. The impact also caused the Camaro to veer across the center line and collide with a third vehicle, a 2017 Toyota 4Runner, which had been stopped at a nearby stop sign.
The driver of the Camaro, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO, for treatment. The 23-year-old woman driving the Murano, from Neosho, MO, and the 36-year-old woman driving the 4Runner, from Diamond, MO, were both properly restrained and did not report injuries at the scene.
Gardner’s Towing and Reidiger’s Towing responded to remove the heavily damaged vehicles, while the Toyota 4Runner was able to be driven from the scene. The crash caused a temporary traffic disruption on MO-59 as emergency crews worked to clear the area and investigate.
Trooper Z. Moore is leading the investigation into the incident.
We extend our best wishes to the injured driver and hope for a smooth and complete recovery.
