Chattanooga, TN (January 12, 2026) – A collision late Sunday night on E 49th St in Hamilton County resulted in a variety of injuries and prompted a response from multiple emergency crews. The incident occurred around 10:46 p.m. EST in the 1600 block of E 49th St, near residential areas in the southern part of Chattanooga.
Paramedics and fire crews arrived quickly to assist those hurt in the crash. Several individuals were treated at the scene for injuries, and at least one person was transported to a nearby hospital for additional medical care. The exact nature and extent of the injuries remain under evaluation.
Authorities temporarily closed the area to through traffic while responders worked to clear the damaged vehicles and secure the scene. Residents nearby reported seeing emergency lights and crews working late into the night to assist those involved.
