Spotsylvania, VA (January 12, 2026) – A devastating hit-and-run collision on Courthouse Rd has left a 20-year-old man dead after he was struck by two vehicles while riding an electric bicycle Friday night.
Deputies with the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office were called to the 9600 block of Courthouse Rd shortly after 10 p.m. on Friday following reports of a serious crash involving a cyclist. Upon arrival, they located the victim, identified as Sameer Anwar, deceased at the scene.
According to witness accounts, Anwar was riding an electric bicycle when he was first struck from behind by a GMC SUV. Moments later, he was hit again by a second vehicle. The driver of the GMC fled the area without rendering aid.
The following day, 24-year-old Bryce Littlejohn turned himself in at the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office and was placed under arrest. He now faces multiple charges, including Felony Hit and Run Resulting in Death, Felony Grand Larceny, and Misdemeanor Reckless Driving. He is currently being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail.
The second driver remained on scene and cooperated fully with authorities. At this time, officials have not released the individual’s identity or confirmed whether any additional charges will be filed.
Investigators continue to piece together the events leading up to the crash and are reviewing all available evidence to determine the full scope of responsibility.
