San Diego, CA (January 12, 2026) – A male bicyclist was seriously injured Saturday afternoon after crashing while descending a steep hill near Frost St in San Diego. The incident was reported at approximately 4:05 p.m. on January 11, according to dispatch audio.
Emergency responders arrived to find the man suffering from multiple abrasions, a facial laceration, and signs of a possible skull fracture. The rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, which occurred under unclear circumstances. Despite his injuries, the patient remained alert and stable.
Paramedics transported the bicyclist to Sharp Memorial Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. During transport, the patient reportedly declined both a neck brace and IV access.
Authorities have not released the man’s identity and are continuing to investigate the factors leading to the crash.
