Prince William County, VA (January 12, 2026) – A man from Warrenton has died following a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in the Nokesville area Sunday evening, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Kettle Run Rd and Schaeffer Ln just before 7 p.m. on January 11 to investigate reports of a serious collision. Upon arrival, emergency crews found a motorcyclist suffering from injuries sustained in the crash. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
Investigators said the victim, identified as Charles Melvin Smith Jr., was riding a 2023 Harley-Davidson Road Glide southbound on Kettle Run Rd. As he approached a left curve near Schaeffer Ln, he lost control and veered off the roadway, striking a concrete culvert.
The impact caused critical injuries, and despite life-saving efforts at the hospital, Smith was pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation by Prince William County Police. Authorities have not indicated that any other vehicles were involved.
