La Jolla, CA (January 12, 2026) – A man in his twenties sustained injuries Saturday evening after his electric bicycle collided with a vehicle near Genesee Ave in La Jolla. The crash occurred around 5:38 p.m. on January 11, according to dispatch audio.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene, where the rider was found alert and wearing a helmet. He was reportedly descending a hill when the crash occurred. The man complained of right shoulder pain but had stable vital signs.

Solana Beach Medics transported him to Scripps La Jolla Hospital for further evaluation. No other injuries were reported, and the circumstances leading up to the incident remain under investigation.

Authorities have not confirmed the extent of damage or whether any citations were issued.
