Bronx, NY (January 13, 2026) – One person sustained injuries on Monday following a residential fire that broke out on the sixth floor of an apartment building located at 2175 Reeds Mill Ln in the Eastchester section of the Bronx.
The fire was reported during the afternoon hours, drawing a swift response from FDNY units who arrived to find smoke emerging from a sixth-floor unit. Firefighters quickly entered the building and worked to contain the blaze, while assisting residents in safely evacuating the area.
During the operation, one individual was treated for injuries related to the fire. Emergency medical services provided immediate care at the scene before transporting the victim to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The nature and extent of the injuries have not yet been disclosed.
Crews were able to bring the fire under control promptly, preventing its spread to neighboring units. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire.
