St. Charles, MO (January 13, 2026) – One man was injured on Monday morning following a two-vehicle crash along eastbound Interstate 64 near mile marker 5.0 in St. Charles County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred around 8:24 a.m. during a period of heavy traffic. Authorities say a 2025 Nissan Pathfinder, driven by a 62-year-old man from New London, made an unsafe lane change, moving into the path of a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox operated by a 24-year-old woman from Moscow Mills. The front of the Equinox struck the rear of the Pathfinder, resulting in a collision that caused extensive damage to the Equinox and moderate damage to the Nissan.
The Pathfinder was able to be driven from the scene, while the Equinox had to be towed by Superior Towing due to the severity of the damage. Emergency personnel with the St. Charles County Ambulance District transported the male driver of the Pathfinder to Progress West Hospital for treatment of injuries. The female driver of the Equinox was reportedly uninjured, and both individuals were properly restrained.
Cpl. T. N. Ziegler led the investigation, with assistance from Cpl. A. M. Collins. Traffic was temporarily disrupted while the crash was cleared and responders worked to assist those involved.
We hope for a smooth and swift recovery for the injured individual following this crash.
