Apple Valley, CA (January 13, 2026) – A deadly two-vehicle crash claimed one life and left two others injured on December 12 at the intersection of Waalew Rd and Corwin Rd in Apple Valley. The incident occurred at approximately 4:36 p.m. and involved a lime green Honda Civic and a gray Chevrolet pickup truck, according to the Apple Valley Police Department.
Firefighters with the Apple Valley Fire Protection District arrived to find both vehicles stopped on the north side of Waalew Rd. One occupant of the Honda was trapped inside the wreckage in critical condition and had to be extricated by emergency crews. Despite rescue efforts, that individual later died from their injuries. Two other people suffered what were described as delayed injuries, though their conditions have not been publicly detailed.
Authorities confirmed that neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be factors in the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
As a result of the incident, Waalew Rd was temporarily closed in both directions while officials conducted scene assessments and gathered evidence.
