Genoa, NY (January 14, 2026) – A serious crash involving a car and a tractor-trailer on Route 90 in Genoa left one person hospitalized on Monday afternoon, according to emergency reports.
The collision occurred around noon on January 12 between East Venice and McAllister Rds. Genoa Fire Department crews arrived to find the driver of the car trapped inside the vehicle. Due to the severity of the entrapment, mutual aid was requested from nearby departments to assist in the rescue.
Responders worked quickly to secure hazards from both vehicles before beginning extrication efforts. It took approximately 30 minutes to free the victim from the wreckage. The unidentified driver sustained injuries serious enough to require air transport to a nearby hospital. At this time, their condition has not been released.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage, and traffic along Route 90 was affected for a period as crews worked to clear the scene and ensure the area was safe for travel. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
