Opelika, AL (January 14, 2026) – A person riding a bicycle was critically injured Monday evening after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of South Third St and Avenue C in Opelika. The incident occurred around 6:39 p.m., and emergency units arrived to find the victim unresponsive as CPR was being administered.

EMS and law enforcement officers were on scene providing life-saving medical care. The cyclist’s current condition has not been released, and their identity remains undisclosed as officials work to notify family. The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
