Chicago, IL (January 14, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash occurred late Tuesday morning at the intersection of Madison St and Mayfield Ave on Chicago’s West Side, resulting in injuries and trapping occupants inside one or more of the vehicles.
The incident was first reported around 11:08 a.m. when emergency personnel received calls indicating that a crash had taken place and some individuals were unable to exit their vehicles. Responders from the Chicago Fire Department and EMS arrived swiftly at the scene to begin rescue and medical aid operations.
Paramedics evaluated the victims for a variety of injuries and provided necessary treatment. At least one person was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation, though the full extent of injuries remains unclear. Fire crews also worked to safely extricate individuals from the vehicles involved.
Authorities with the Chicago Police Department are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash and any contributing factors. Further updates are expected as the case develops.
