Indianapolis, IN (January 14, 2026) – A major crash involving five vehicles shut down a portion of I-70 near mile marker 78 on January 12 and left several people injured. The pileup occurred just after 4:20 p.m., bringing a rapid response from Indiana State Police, EMS, and fire crews to manage the scene and assist victims.
When first responders arrived, they found extensive damage across multiple lanes and began triaging those involved. At least one person was confirmed injured, though the total number of victims has not yet been released.
