Tucson, AZ (January 14, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning on East Congress Street resulted in confirmed injuries and significant traffic disruption in the downtown Tucson area. Emergency personnel responded to the scene following reports of vehicles blocking the roadway with visible damage and airbags deployed.
The incident was first reported at approximately 5:48 a.m., prompting a coordinated response from local fire and medical crews. One of the involved vehicles was reportedly emitting smoke, and both remained disabled in the middle of the roadway, requiring traffic closures in the immediate area.
Responders assessed multiple individuals for injuries and provided care on-site. At least one person sustained injuries serious enough to warrant hospital transport. The exact number of those hurt has not yet been confirmed, and the identities of the parties involved remain undisclosed.
