Jacksonville, FL (January 15, 2026) – Two men from Jacksonville lost their lives in a violent single-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 late Wednesday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The deadly collision happened just before midnight, at approximately 11:51 p.m., near mile marker 362 close to the Stockton St exit. Authorities say a 45-year-old man was driving a 2016 Lexus sedan eastbound in the left lane when he attempted to change lanes. During the maneuver, the vehicle veered off the roadway, triggering a devastating sequence of impacts.
The Lexus struck a Florida Department of Transportation sign, overturned, and then slammed into an overhead support structure. Investigators confirmed that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle as it flipped. Both the driver and his 31-year-old male passenger were pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
The identities of the victims have not yet been publicly released pending notification of their families. Troopers continue to investigate the exact cause of the crash and are working to determine if speed, distraction, or other contributing factors were involved.
Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of both men who tragically lost their lives in this heartbreaking crash.
