St. Charles, MO (January 18, 2026) – One person was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle collision that occurred early on Friday morning on westbound Route 364, just east of Arena Parkway. The incident, investigated by Troop C, drew emergency personnel to the scene shortly after 6:30 a.m.
According to official reports, a 2011 Ford Explorer struck the rear of a 2017 Jaguar F-PACE after the driver of the Ford reportedly fell asleep at the wheel. The impact caused moderate damage to the Ford, which was able to be driven from the scene. However, the Jaguar sustained extensive damage and was left roadside as a result of the crash.
Paramedics from St. Charles County Ambulance transported the 44-year-old male driver of the Jaguar, a Kirkwood resident, to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment of injuries. Both drivers were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, which may have helped prevent more serious harm.
The collision caused temporary traffic disruption along the westbound lanes of Route 364 as responders worked to secure the area and assess the involved individuals. The driver of the Ford, a 39-year-old man from St. Charles, was not injured.
Authorities continue to review the details surrounding the accident, including the role fatigue played in the rear-end impact. Our thoughts go out to the injured driver, and we hope for a speedy recovery.
