Columbus, OH (January 19, 2026) – A ramp connecting Gender Rd to US 33 West was blocked on Sunday afternoon following an injury accident that required emergency response and temporarily disrupted traffic in the southeast Columbus area.
The crash was reported around 5:15 p.m. on January 18 and occurred on the ramp leading from Gender Rd onto the westbound lanes of US 33. Responders with Columbus Fire and emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene, where they provided treatment to individuals hurt in the incident. At least one person was reported to have sustained injuries, though the extent of those injuries has not yet been disclosed.
The incident led to significant traffic congestion as the ramp remained closed while crews worked to assist victims, clear the vehicles, and ensure the safety of the roadway. Drivers were advised to seek alternative routes until the area was reopened to traffic.
