Greene, MO (January 19, 2026) – A two-vehicle accident north of Springfield on Saturday afternoon left one person injured and required emergency medical attention. The collision occurred around 2:49 p.m. on January 17 at the intersection of Route AA and US 65, roughly 1.5 miles outside the city in Greene County.
Initial reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol indicate that a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country van, driven by a 23-year-old man from Halfway, MO, entered the roadway and collided with a 2016 Dodge Challenger traveling southbound. The impact led to damage to both vehicles, though only one was towed from the scene.
Paramedics assessed and transported the 42-year-old male driver of the Dodge, a resident of Tolleson, AZ, to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment of injuries. Fortunately, he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. The driver of the Chrysler van was reportedly uninjured and was able to leave the scene in his vehicle.
Henry’s Wrecker of Brookline towed the Dodge Challenger due to the extent of its damage. Both vehicles had sustained minor damage, according to troopers with Troop D. The accident remains under investigation, with authorities working to determine whether additional factors contributed to the collision.
Our thoughts are with the injured driver as he continues to recover.
