Indianapolis, IN (January 19, 2026) – A pregnant woman was transported to Methodist Hospital for evaluation after a motor vehicle accident on Sunday evening near North Senate Avenue in downtown Indianapolis.
The incident occurred on January 18 and involved a 34-year-old woman who was approximately 34 weeks pregnant at the time of the crash. According to EMS personnel, the vehicle sustained minor front-end damage, and the patient was traveling at an estimated 30 miles per hour when the collision happened.
Though she did not report pain or visible bleeding, the woman requested to be taken to the hospital to ensure her baby’s well-being. Paramedics assessed her at the scene and found her in stable condition, with normal vital signs and no immediate signs of trauma.
Due to the patient’s pregnancy and need for specialized evaluation, emergency responders diverted to Methodist Hospital, which is equipped to handle obstetric trauma cases. While the woman typically receives OB care at Riley Hospital for Children, Methodist was deemed more appropriate for this emergency.
No other vehicles or individuals were mentioned in connection with the crash, and further investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
We send our sincere wishes for the safety and health of both the patient and her unborn child.
