How Do Rollaway Vehicle Incidents Happen in Residential Areas?
Rollaway vehicle incidents can occur when a car is not fully secured after being parked. This may involve issues such as the parking brake not being engaged, the vehicle not being placed properly in park, or mechanical failures that allow the vehicle to move unexpectedly.
Driveways, especially those on an incline, can increase the risk of a vehicle rolling if proper precautions are not taken. Attempting to stop a moving vehicle can be extremely dangerous, as even slow-moving cars carry enough force to cause serious injuries.
Regular vehicle maintenance, ensuring proper use of parking brakes, and being cautious around moving vehicles are important steps in preventing these types of incidents.
