Marion Twp, OH (January 20, 2026) – A tragic accident claimed the life of a 42-year-old man Monday evening following a collision between a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck along Marion-Williamsport Rd West, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred shortly after 7:00 p.m. on January 19. Investigators say Joshua Criswell, 42, of Marion, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu when the vehicle reportedly crossed over the centerline and struck a semi-tractor and trailer traveling in the opposite direction.
Criswell sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities noted that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver of the semi suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No charges have been filed, and officials have not confirmed whether speed, distraction, or impairment played any role in the incident.
Marion-Williamsport Rd was temporarily closed during the response and investigation, but has since reopened.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Joshua Criswell during this difficult time.
