Indianapolis, IN (January 20, 2026) – A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a ferry van at the intersection of E Washington St and N Pennsylvania St in downtown Indianapolis on January 19. The incident occurred just before 6:00 p.m. and prompted a rapid response from EMS and law enforcement.
According to dispatch audio, the pedestrian was awake and breathing at the scene but appeared visibly distressed following the collision. EMS units, including Squad 13 and Ambulance 15, were dispatched to the intersection to provide medical assistance.
Authorities confirmed the crash occurred in the busy downtown corridor, within City Council District 18. Responders worked to stabilize the victim and manage the scene as traffic in the area was temporarily impacted.
Further information on the nature of the injuries or whether the driver remained on scene has not been released. The case remains under investigation.
