Bend, OR (January 21, 2026) – First responders were called to the scene of two serious vehicle accidents that occurred within close range of one another on Tuesday morning along Powell Butte Hwy, just north of Bend Municipal Airport.
The crashes were reported just before 9:00 a.m., according to local deputies. The first involved an SUV that veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole. One person was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, though details about the extent of their injuries have not yet been released.
The second crash involved a pickup truck that rolled onto its side. Fortunately, both occupants of the truck escaped without serious injury and did not require hospitalization.
Authorities have not confirmed whether the incidents were related or what caused the collisions. As of Tuesday evening, investigations into both crashes remained ongoing.
