Davenport, IA (January 21, 2026) – A 32-year-old man was killed, and a City of Davenport employee was injured on Tuesday morning following a head-on crash on West Locust Street, according to local authorities.
The collision occurred around 9:29 a.m. in the 4400 block of W Locust St. Preliminary findings indicate that the 32-year-old man was driving eastbound when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a westbound City of Davenport vehicle.
The man sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, a 50-year-old woman employed by the City of Davenport, suffered injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her condition has not been publicly released.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage in the crash. West Locust Street was temporarily closed while emergency crews responded and investigators processed the scene.
The Davenport Police Department is actively investigating the incident to determine the cause of the crash.
