Philadelphia, PA (January 21, 2026) – Two elderly individuals were transported to the hospital following a vehicle accident near N Broad St in Philadelphia during the morning hours of January 21. The crash involved an 80-year-old male driver and a 78-year-old female passenger, both of whom sustained injuries requiring trauma-level evaluation.
Responding medics reported that the male driver, who was properly restrained, complained of pain in his right arm and shoulder. He was noted to be on blood thinners but had no loss of consciousness. The female passenger, also restrained, suffered injuries to both knees, her right hand, and her lower back. She was not on blood thinners and remained conscious and alert at the scene.
Both patients were transported to Temple University Hospital with stable vital signs. The exact circumstances of the crash have not been released, and no other vehicles or individuals were reported injured.
An investigation is underway to determine what led to the incident.
