Beaumont, CA (January 22, 2026) – A major two-vehicle accident on the westbound I-10 near SR-60 left at least two people injured and led to significant emergency response after one person was reportedly ejected and trapped beneath an overturned vehicle.
Authorities received reports of the collision just after 12:15 PM on January 22. According to dispatch logs, the crash involved a large white van and a dark blue Ford Explorer. One of the vehicles overturned during the impact, and a female occupant was found trapped beneath the wreckage. Multiple agencies, including CAL FIRE, CHP, and emergency medical personnel, responded to the scene.
Two individuals were transported from the crash site for emergency medical care. Crews worked urgently to stabilize the scene and free the trapped victim while requesting additional ambulances and heavy-duty towing support. One of the vehicles came to rest about 100 yards from the initial collision point, further complicating recovery efforts.
The #1 lane of westbound I-10 was shut down temporarily while authorities managed the scene and removed debris. CALTRANS was also notified due to damage to a roadside pole equipped with solar panels and a traffic camera.
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash, and further updates regarding the victims’ conditions have not yet been made public.
