Lake View, AL (January 22, 2026) – A tragic house fire claimed one life Tuesday afternoon in the Lake View community, according to confirmation from the Lakeview Fire District.
The fire broke out around 3:10 p.m. at a residence on Royal Dr. When crews arrived, flames were visible from all sides of the home, indicating the fire was already well advanced. Multiple fire units worked aggressively to bring the blaze under control and search the structure.
Officials stated that six people were inside the home when the fire started. Two individuals were transported to a local hospital by ambulance, while a third person was airlifted by helicopter due to the severity of their condition. Two others were able to leave the scene in private vehicles for medical evaluation.
During the response, firefighters located one individual inside the residence who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released.
The Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting with the investigation to determine how the fire started. No additional details regarding the cause have been made public at this time.
