Yountville, CA (January 22, 2026) – A head-on collision involving a box truck and a Tesla resulted in injuries and major traffic disruption on Highway 29 near Washington St in Yountville Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 9:15 a.m. on January 21. Preliminary reports indicate that the box truck collided head-on with the Tesla, causing the truck to overturn in the roadway. Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the impact or whether speed or other factors played a role.
CHP officers and fire crews responded quickly to assess those involved. While the extent of injuries was reported as minor, it remains unclear how many people were hurt or if anyone required hospitalization.
Both directions of Highway 29 were temporarily closed to allow for cleanup and investigation. All lanes were reopened by 11:00 a.m. after crews cleared the overturned vehicle and debris.
CHP continues to investigate the crash and is expected to release additional findings as the case develops.
