Orange County, FL (January 23, 2026) – A 44-year-old man was killed late Thursday night after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric bicycle in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Oak Ridge Rd and Harcourt Ave. Authorities say a Kia Optima, driven by a 40-year-old man, was traveling eastbound on Oak Ridge Rd when it struck the e-bike rider, who was crossing the intersection in the crosswalk at the time.
Emergency responders transported the injured rider to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Kia remained at the scene. FHP has not confirmed whether any charges will be filed, and no further information about the driver’s condition or contributing factors has been released.
An investigation into the fatal collision is ongoing.
