Lake Isabella, CA (January 23, 2026) – A fatal pedestrian accident occurred Wednesday evening at the intersection of Lake Isabella Blvd and Crestview Ave, involving a vehicle and a man using an electric wheelchair. The incident was first reported just after 6:00 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene following reports of a collision between a pickup truck and the pedestrian. Despite lifesaving efforts, the individual sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
CHP logs later confirmed that a motorcycle may have also been involved, though the primary incident was described as a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. Lake Isabella Blvd was partially closed for several hours as investigators processed the scene and collected evidence. A tow truck was dispatched to transport one of the vehicles involved for further forensic review.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet indicated whether impairment, speed, or other factors played a role.
