Clay Co, MO (January 23, 2026) – A five-vehicle accident early on Friday morning caused injuries to one driver and brought significant traffic disruption to northbound Interstate 435 just south of MO-210 in Clay County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. when a 2020 Ford F-150 stalled in the left lane of I-435, leading to a sudden halt in traffic. As vehicles braked abruptly, a 2022 Toyota Tacoma rear-ended a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro. The force of the impact set off a chain reaction: the Camaro struck a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, which then hit a 2015 Ford F-150, pushing that vehicle into the rear of the stalled truck.
The driver of the Camaro, a 36-year-old woman from Kansas City, sustained injuries and was transported by Kansas City Fire to North Kansas City Health. All other drivers involved were evaluated at the scene and did not require hospital transport. All five vehicles were northbound at the time and sustained moderate damage, with each requiring towing.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol, assisted by the Kansas City Police, is continuing to investigate the incident and the circumstances surrounding the stalled vehicle.
Our thoughts are with the injured woman, and we wish her a swift and full recovery.
