Indianapolis, IN (January 24, 2026) – A severe two-vehicle collision involving a dump truck and another vehicle occurred Friday night at the intersection of W 34th St and Dandy Trail, resulting in a traumatic medical emergency that required CPR at the scene.
The crash was reported around 10:16 p.m. on January 23. According to emergency dispatch communications, the incident involved a DPW plow truck that was rear-ended by a second vehicle. Initial reports indicated that the driver of the second vehicle was unresponsive at the time of the call, and first responders were dispatched immediately.
IMPD officers arrived and initiated CPR on the injured individual, while fire and rescue units established incident command on Dandy Trail. Although early information suggested a possible entrapment, responders later confirmed that no one was trapped in either vehicle.
The crash was classified as a traumatic arrest due to the critical condition of the driver. Medics on scene successfully regained pulses during resuscitation efforts, and additional units were cleared once the situation was stabilized.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and no further information has been released about the individuals involved.
