Charles Town, WV (January 25, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a serious motor vehicle accident involving entrapment on Friday afternoon on E Washington St in Jefferson County, near the well-known “Adam Link Light” intersection.
The crash occurred on January 23 at approximately 3:20 p.m., prompting a coordinated response from Jefferson County units, including Rescue 4, Rescue Engine 5, Medics 1107 and 1102, and Company 2. On arrival, firefighters found at least one individual trapped in a damaged vehicle.
Rescue teams used extrication tools to safely free the victim while paramedics provided medical care. The injured individual was stabilized at the scene before being transported to a local hospital for further treatment. While the full extent of injuries has not been released, officials confirmed they were significant enough to require emergency transport.
Traffic along E Washington St was impacted as crews worked to secure the area and clear debris. The cause of the accident remains under investigation by local authorities.
