Kent, WA (January 27, 2026) – A hit-and-run collision early Sunday morning at the intersection of Southeast 196th Street and 113th Place Southeast left at least one person injured and caused significant traffic disruption, according to emergency dispatch reports.
The crash was reported around 3:19 a.m. and involved a black SUV and a green sedan. Responding crews arrived to find both directions of the roadway blocked and one or more individuals in need of medical attention. Medics provided on-scene treatment to the injured, though the severity and number of victims have not been officially confirmed.
Witnesses reported that the black SUV, which fled the scene heading eastbound, was responsible for the collision. Police are actively investigating the incident and are working to locate the suspect vehicle. Authorities have not released a full description beyond the vehicle’s color and size.
The intersection remained partially closed during the early-morning hours while fire crews and law enforcement managed the scene and began their investigation. Damage to the green sedan appeared substantial, and a tow was requested for removal.
