Lakeside, CA (January 27, 2026) – A motorcyclist lost their life late Sunday night following a deadly collision with a passenger vehicle on Winter Gardens Boulevard in Lakeside. The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred at approximately 10:32 p.m. near 9594 Winter Gardens Blvd.
According to CHP, the collision involved a black motorcycle and a black 2010 Toyota Prius. Although the exact sequence of events leading to the impact remains under investigation, the collision proved fatal for the rider, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency responders quickly arrived and shut down both directions of Winter Gardens Blvd to allow for a full investigation and safe removal of debris. Crews worked through the night as officials documented the scene and gathered evidence.
Both the motorcycle and the Prius were towed from the location as part of the ongoing inquiry. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin, and no further information has been provided regarding the driver of the Toyota Prius.
CHP officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash, including vehicle speeds, visibility, and roadway conditions at the time of the incident.
