According to dispatch audio, the crash resulted in both occupants of the vehicle sustaining injuries. The passenger reported flank pain, while the driver experienced a brief loss of consciousness following the impact. Despite the severity of the incident, both individuals were conscious and alert as they were transported to Sinai Hospital for further evaluation.
The collision occurred as winter weather created slick conditions on area roadways. The vehicle reportedly skidded on the icy ramp before striking a municipal salt truck, which was likely present for road treatment operations.
