Indianapolis, IN (January 28, 2026) – A serious two-vehicle accident at the intersection of West Michigan St and North Meridian St on January 27 resulted in multiple injuries, including one woman suffering a suspected fractured pelvis and a broken arm. Emergency crews and multiple medic units responded to the scene shortly after 1:44 p.m.
The crash involved a red Toyota and a Jeep Compass, both of which sustained significant damage. One of the vehicles was reported to have come from the Shadeland area, and responders noted both vehicles were disabled and in need of flatbed tow trucks. At least one injured passenger was transported to St. Vincent Hospital for further evaluation.
Medical personnel reported visible damage to the vehicle’s windshield where the injured woman had been seated, suggesting possible head impact. Despite conflicting accounts about whether she was wearing a seatbelt, the woman remained alert and oriented, though she also complained of lower leg pain.
Traffic in the area was impacted while police coordinated with Metro units for traffic control and conducted the initial investigation.
We extend our best wishes to all those injured and hope for a full and swift recovery.
