Frankfort, NY (January 29, 2026) – A head-on collision caused traffic disruptions along Route 5S near Dyke Rd on Wednesday morning after a vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a box truck, according to Frankfort Police.
The crash occurred around 9:00 a.m., when a westbound driver reportedly veered across the center barrier into the eastbound lanes, leading to a direct impact with an oncoming box truck. Emergency crews responded promptly to the scene to assess the situation and provide aid.
One individual was treated on-site for injuries sustained in the crash. At this time, no additional injuries have been reported, and officials have not released further information on the condition of either driver.
The collision led to traffic delays in both directions as authorities worked to secure the scene and clear the damaged vehicles. The roadway was partially closed for a time to ensure safety during cleanup operations.
