Fresno, CA (January 29, 2026) – An 11-year-old child suffered injuries after their e-bike collided with a moving pickup truck Wednesday in Fresno, narrowly avoiding what authorities say could have been a fatal incident.
The collision occurred on Lincoln Avenue, just east of Lilly Avenue, when the child rode directly into the path of a westbound pickup truck. According to officers, the truck struck the e-bike with enough force to throw the child onto the roadway and trap the bike beneath the vehicle.
Emergency responders quickly arrived and provided care to the injured child, who was then transported to a local hospital. The young rider is believed to have sustained possible broken bones, but authorities emphasized that the child’s helmet played a key role in preventing life-threatening injuries.
CHP officials expressed concern over the nature of the crash, stating, “One decision could have changed lives forever.” They reminded the public that e-bikes, while increasingly popular among youth, are powerful machines that require the same level of caution and responsibility as any motor vehicle.
The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No citations or charges have been announced, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Our thoughts are with the injured child and their family, and we wish them a smooth and full recovery.
