Baton Rouge, LA (January 30, 2026) – A vehicle collision on Airline Hwy at McClelland Dr in Baton Rouge left two people injured on Thursday night, one of whom is in critical condition. The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. and involved a car that struck a light pole in the parking lot of a Church’s Chicken restaurant.
According to eyewitness reports, the vehicle became lodged on the concrete base of the pole following the impact. Baton Rouge EMS confirmed that two individuals were transported from the scene, one with life-threatening injuries and another with minor injuries.
Emergency responders arrived promptly to assess the victims and stabilize the scene. The crash drew attention from nearby patrons and caused temporary traffic concerns in the immediate area, though the roadway itself was not fully shut down.
