Crook County, OR (January 31, 2026) – A tragic head-on collision on Oregon Highway 126 near milepost 7 resulted in one fatality and one serious injury on January 29. Oregon State Police confirmed the crash involved a Jeep Cherokee and a semi-truck and occurred just after 9 a.m.
Authorities identified the deceased as Aspen Hadley, a 25-year-old woman from Bend. According to investigators, Hadley was driving westbound in a Jeep Cherokee when, for reasons still under investigation, her vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with an oncoming semi-truck.
Emergency responders arrived swiftly but pronounced Hadley dead at the scene due to the severity of her injuries. The driver of the semi-truck sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No additional details about the truck driver’s condition have been released.
Traffic along Hwy 126 was impacted for several hours as officials conducted an on-site investigation and cleared the wreckage.
Oregon State Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash, including whether any contributing factors such as distraction, fatigue, or road conditions played a role.
