Louisville, KY (February 1, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a serious vehicle crash involving a pole on the 3200 block of Lexington Rd in Louisville. The crash occurred around 12:09 a.m. on January 31, according to dispatch communications from Louisville Metro Police Divisions 4 and 5.
Initially reported as a non-injury incident, the situation was quickly upgraded after officers on the scene found multiple individuals in distress. A dark-colored vehicle had reportedly struck a pole, causing significant damage. EMS and fire crews were requested shortly after the discovery of injuries.
A male occupant of the vehicle was found with a serious injury to his right leg. First responders described the injury as an open compound fracture with minimal bleeding. He remained alert and conscious during the response and was provided immediate care before being transported to a nearby hospital.
In addition to the injured driver, officers located an elderly woman at the scene who appeared disoriented and confused. She was barefoot in the snow and unable to provide her address or name. EMS was called to assist her as well, given the risk of exposure and possible underlying medical concerns.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities have not released further details on how the collision occurred or whether speed, weather conditions, or impairment were contributing factors.
