Metairie, LA (February 2, 2026) – A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle on the morning of February 2 near Houma Blvd in Metairie. The incident occurred shortly before 5:45 a.m. and prompted an emergency response from Jefferson Parish Fire, EMS, and the Sheriff’s Office.
According to dispatch audio, the victim was found on the scene complaining of significant back pain after being hit by a vehicle. EMS arrived quickly to evaluate the individual, and the patient was transported to a local medical facility, identified in reports as East Jefferson Hospital, for further treatment.
Crews from Engine 138 and Coach 131 were among those dispatched, and the area was secured by first responders during the incident. The extent of the injuries has not been fully disclosed, but the collision was serious enough to require a full medical evaluation.
Local authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash and have not yet released information about the driver involved.
