St. Louis, MO (February 4, 2026) – An accident involving a passenger vehicle and a commercial truck resulted in injuries on Tuesday morning along Interstate 70 in St. Louis County. The incident was reported at approximately 8:08 a.m. on February 3 in the westbound lanes of I-70, just west of Cypress Road.
Details from the investigation indicate that a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta and a 2022 Peterbilt 579 were both traveling westbound at the time of the accident. The collision occurred when the truck attempted to change lanes and made contact with the left side of the Volkswagen. The impact caused extensive damage to the Jetta, which was later towed from the scene, while the Peterbilt sustained minor damage and was able to be driven away.
Emergency medical services responded to assess those involved and provide care at the scene. The 39-year-old female driver of the Volkswagen suffered minor injuries and was transported by Pattonville Fire Protection District to SSM Health DePaul Hospital for further evaluation. The 60-year-old male driver of the Peterbilt was evaluated and did not require hospital transport.
Traffic was temporarily affected as crews worked to assist the injured driver and clear the roadway. Authorities continue to review the circumstances surrounding the accident.
