How Vehicle-Into-Building Crashes Can Cause Serious Injuries
Crashes involving vehicles entering buildings can result in injuries to people inside and outside the structure. These incidents often happen when drivers lose control, confuse pedals, or accidentally accelerate while parking or reversing. Even at lower speeds, the force can break walls and create dangerous debris.
People inside buildings may have little time to react when a vehicle suddenly enters. Glass, furniture, and structural materials can cause additional harm during the crash. Employees working near entrances or windows may face a higher risk.
Protective barriers, such as bollards or reinforced posts, can help reduce the chance of vehicles entering buildings. Careful driving in parking areas and near storefronts can also help lower the risk of these unexpected accidents.
