Wayne County, KY (March 3, 2026) – A motorcyclist died after a crash involving a minivan on Saturday afternoon, February 28, along KY 90 near Hall Road in Wayne County. The accident happened around 1:36 p.m.
Preliminary information shows that 26-year-old Christian Vanover of Monticello was riding a 2025 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on KY 90. Witnesses said he was moving through traffic when the motorcycle struck the rear of a 2008 Honda Odyssey.
The Honda was driven by 57-year-old Cynthia Smith of Somerset. After the impact, the motorcycle left the roadway and went down an earth embankment.
Vanover was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Emergency crews transported him to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, and he was later transferred to the University of Kentucky Hospital.
Despite treatment, Vanover was later pronounced dead. Smith and a passenger in the Honda Odyssey were not hurt in the collision.
The incident remains under review by authorities.
